At Better Health Network, our vision is: Your health, your choice, your way. We encourage our clients to share responsibility for their health, wellbeing and support.

When using our services, you have the right to:

  • Feel welcomed, safe and supported 
  • Be treated with respect and care at all times 
  • Receive safe, quality healthcare without fear of discrimination 
  • Be in a clean, comfortable and culturally safe place 
  • Have your personal information kept private 
  • Get clear information about your health 
  • Be involved in decisions about your care 
  • Say no to any assessment, support or treatment that doesn’t feel right for you 
  • Bring someone with you for support (family, friend, interpreter, support person or advocate) 
  • Ask for an interpreter for free 
  • Know the full cost before you say yes to any treatment 
  • Ask for financial reports that show how your fees and government funding are used 
  • Ask for a different staff member to support you 
  • Give feedback or make a complaint at any time while we keep supporting you.

You are responsible for:

  • Giving honest and accurate information about your health and wellbeing 
  • Treating all staff and other clients with respect 
  • Attending appointments or telling us as early as possible if you need to change or cancel appointments 
  • Asking questions when you don’t understand something 
  • Following your treatment plan if you agree to it 
  • Understanding what may happen if you choose not to follow your treatment plan, accept advice, or attend appointments.
