Even more reasons to smile

Smile Squad dental program expands

With the cost of living continuing to rise, oral health can sometimes be put off due to expense. But everyone deserves a healthy smile – no matter their budget.

BHN’s Smile Squad program provides children attending Victorian government schools with free oral health check-ups, cleans, X-rays and fillings. Government school students can also access free dental care at BHN’s Parkdale, Bentleigh, Prahran and South Melbourne dental clinics.

Recently, BHN’s Smile Squad van visited Parkdale Primary School, where the team was scheduled to see more than 200 children.

We asked 10-year-old Evie why it’s important to clean our teeth. “So my teeth don’t fall out,” she said with a smile after her visit with BHN’s Smile Squad oral health therapists.

There are now even more reasons to smile, with the program expanded to include low-fee schools such as Catholic schools. Children from these schools can access care for an affordable low fee of $39 per child, inclusive of all services except orthodontics.

There’s never been a better time to keep your smile in great shape. To make an appointment, call 132 246, or for more information visit Smile Squad.
