The Support at Home program commenced on 1 November 2025, replacing the Home Care Package Program.

What level of care am I eligible to receive?

My Aged Care determines what level of Support at Home funding you are eligible for.

There are eight Support at Home classifications for ongoing services.  Additionally, there are three short-term pathway funding options:

  • Restorative care pathway
  • End-of-life pathway
  • Assistive technology and home modifications   

BHN can assist with all levels of support – indicative budget amounts for each level are:

Aged care providers will continue to set their own price for services from 1 November 2025. However, this will change from 1 July 2026, when service fees will be capped under the Support at Home program.

Transitioned Home Care Package recipients will continue to receive an equivalent level of funding as their previous Home Care Package.

Support at Home was created as part of aged care reforms in response to the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety. It replaced the Home Care Packages Program on 1 November 2025. It brings all in-home aged care supports into one simpler, more flexible system and aims to make it easier for older Australians to access high-quality, respectful care to help them stay independent.

 People aged 65+ (or 50+ for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples) who need help with daily tasks. You’ll need to be assessed and approved through My Aged Care.

Once you have been assigned your Support at Home funding you choose a provider – like BHN – to deliver your services. We have immediate availability for support and can help you get started straight away.

Most of the cost is covered by the government. You may contribute a basic or income-tested fee.  As a not-for-profit provider, BHN keeps fees as low as possible.

 Depending on your needs:

  • Case management
  • Clinical case management – Assistive Technology and Home Modification, Short Term Restorative Care and End of Life
  • Personal care (showering, grooming)
  • Meal preparation
  • Cleaning
  • Transport
  • Allied health (e.g. physio, occupational therapy, dietetics or podiatry)
  • Nursing and medication support
  • Social activities

Yes. Your Support at Home program belongs to you. You can change providers anytime.

We support families too. Once your parent is assigned their Support at Home funding, we’ll guide you, step-by-step.

As soon as your Support at Home funding is assigned, you can start services immediately.
